Gary Herbert Talks April FOols

April Fools’ Day Is Canceled: Utah Governor Says ”Now Is Not The Time for Irresponsible April Fools’ Day Jokes”

Utah’s Governor Gary Herbert is speaking out and expressing his tremendous support for the state’s teachers and educators after a cruel April Fools’ Joke.

” Now is not the time for irresponsible April Fools’ Day jokes,” Herbert said, retweeting a fake news post about students forced to transition to online learning amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The fake post read, “All students to repeat current grade next year, declares Utah Governor Herbert,” igniting concern among families throughout the state. Fortunately, it is not true.

As Herbert continued, he said,” I am tremendously grateful to our teachers for their tireless efforts to continue educating Utah students — and I’m impressed by the dedication of our students who are learning from home.”

Utahns are currently under a statewide “Stay Safe, Stay Home” directive, which encourages residents to “stay at home as much as possible” and “work from home whenever possible.” However, the government is weighing the possibility of an official stay-at-home mandate.
