The leader of a phony church, who is in prison in Colombia awaiting extradition to the United States on charges of selling bleach fluids as a “wonder cure” for Covid-19, continues to promote the potentially fatal items via social media and text messages from his cell.
According to The Guardian, Mark Grenon refers to himself as the “archbishop” of the Genesis II Church. He is accused of supplying bleach to at least 75 inmates at the La Picota prison in Bogotá.
As Grenon told the Guardian in a phone call, “You can’t get it on the outside, but we got it on the inside.”
Severe illnesses like diabetes and gastritis make his more than 75 clients more susceptible to the virus.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that Grenon has a secret phone to communicate with outsiders, including surfing the internet.
Grenon allegedly uses Facebook and mobile messaging apps such as Telegram to spread the word about his hazardous product.
One of the church leader’s three sons is held with Grenon while the other two await trial in Miami. They face long prison sentences for their alleged sale of his “Miracle Mineral Solution,” indicted by a grand jury in April.
In addition to COVID-19, they claim that the bleach-based solution is a miracle cure for many other illnesses.
