Ari Lennox is ready to say goodbye to social media—for good. In a heartfelt post shared on Instagram, the singer revealed that she plans to delete her social media accounts on December 18, marking her two-year sobriety anniversary.
In her message, Ari explained how social media has negatively impacted her life and why she believes stepping away from platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok is the best move for her mental and emotional well-being. “I don’t believe I’ll ever mature and be happy as long as I have it,” she wrote. “I have a very toxic and codependent relationship with these apps. My happiness is worth more to me than using these platforms to promote.”
Ari, who’s always been candid with her fans, didn’t hold back about how social media has become a draining addiction for her. “I’m so exhausted with my addiction to the internet and gossip and attention and validation and yearning to be in control and oversharing,” she confessed. “I just want to be free and complete.”
Despite the pressures of potentially losing brand deals, music sales, and her presence on social media, Ari is committed to finding healthier, more creative ways to connect with her fans. She encouraged everyone to subscribe to her YouTube channel and official website to stay updated on her music. She also teased her upcoming 2025 album and tour, letting fans know they can find her onstage or “outside.”
The announcement also came with a reminder that Ari’s latest single, “Smoke”, is set to drop on October 18th, so fans have more to look forward to before she says her final goodbye to the digital world.
Ari Lennox’s decision to step away from social media reflects her ongoing journey toward self-care and freedom. As she put it in her post, “I’m an extreme person. It will forever be all or nothing with me.”
