Ari Lennox took to Instagram early Wednesday to air out her frustrations with her record labels, Interscope and Dreamville.
The Pressure singer has made it very clear that she’s had enough and wants out of her contract.
“Where do I start, where do I f*ckin start,” Ari began. “I’m so tired. My heart is beating so fast. Like, I don’t know what else to do.” She continued, “I just want to be released… I’m tired of being nice… this was my final straw.”
In a nearly 20-minute video, Ari touched on everything from feeling like her music isn’t promoted to being unhappy with becoming the “face of mental health.” She even claimed that no one knew that her new single ‘Smoke’ had dropped.
She then took to her Instagram story with a post that further explained her decision:
“Interscope and Dreamville have been playing with me all month and I’m so exhausted. I’m so tired of people treating me like they’re sorry for me and like I’m the face of mental health. I’m ok and I’ve never been happier. What I don’t like is being signed and lied to and manipulated. Not one person at those labels ever knew how to market or protect me. Y’all don’t know the half. Constant let down and neglect. This industry stuff will never be for me.”
Ari’s frustration is more than understandable. She’s a talented artist and it’s obvious she deserves better.
Going independent could be just what she needs, and fans are here for it.
In her comment section, even T-Pain showed his support and offered to help.
“Every. Single. Word. You sound exactly like me in 2018 when I decided to take the leap to independence. I need to talk to you. I wanna at least throw out some suggestions from experience on how I navigated from being supported by a label to fully independent,” he wrote. “Pls dm me mama.”
