Ari Lennox has had an eventful start to the year. In a recent turn of events, she revealed she wants to be dropped from her music label in a tweet.
After an interview turned personal for the singer, she vows never to visit South Africa and no longer do interviews. She felt “ambushed and blindsided” by the podcaster questioning her sexual life.
The “Shea Butter Baby” responded to critics on Twitter in a heated social media battle.

She called the interview the “icing on the cake” and claimed no one would last a day as a signed artist, and she is “done and tired.”
She is signed with Interscope and J. Cole’s record label, Dreamville. In another tweet, she recognizes her pattern of complaining all the time.

She says, “For Christ sakes. I realize I have no hits. I realize you all can live without hearing my music. I realize my complaining is so aggravating to y’all. I don’t ask blogs to post me when I’m at my worst. You judgemental self hating parasites wouldn’t last a day as a signed artist.”
However, fans disagreed with her when it came to hits. Many supported her and rallied around her, claiming songs like “Shea Butter Baby,” “Up Late,” “Pressure,” and “BMO” are just some of the songs that hit.
Another fan says, “I listen to your songs every day. I know every song, Stop lying to yourself, Queen…”
Her last night’s tweets included calling a user a “thumb” after she decided to sing sexual songs.
