According to reports, Arizona Cardinals rookie, Damond Powell was shot by three masked men in a gold colored vehicle on Friday night. The incident took place around 8:36pm in the driveway of Powell’s home in Toledo, OH. Powell and friends were sitting in a car when shots reportedly came from a gold colored car down the street.Â
Powell, who signed with the Cardinals on May 5 as an undrafted free agent,  was rushed to the University of Toledo Medical Center. His injuries are said to be non-life threatening. Some outlets are reporting that he was shot in the face but so far, the actual extent of his injuries are unknown. The Cardinals released a statement on the incident: “We are aware that Damond Powell was the victim of a shooting last night in Toledo, where he remains hospitalized,” the team said. “We have been in communication with his family to offer whatever support and resources we can provide. We will continue to monitor and provide updates as appropriate.”
There have been no arrests made.Â
