The state of Arizona is making it very clear that Darren Sharper is to going home any time soon. Sound Familiar? It should, because Los Angeles did the same thing. Sharper faces charges in Tempe, AZ for allegedly drugging and raping two women in an apartment home.
Sharper is accused of drugging and raping as many as 9 women in 5 different states. He’s currently being held in a Los Angeles facility where he’s been since February. He eventually was granted bail in Los Angeles but then ruled the Arizona sexual assault charges required he remain locked up. Today, Arizona has denied bail for Sharper.
Sharper was thiiiiiiiiis close to getting out. See, the Arizona judge was half convinced, ruling the case involving accuser #1 was not strong enough to deny him bail. According to prosecutors, accuser #1 still went to brunch with Sharper and friends after she confronted him about possible acts and he denied knowledge of the previous night’s events. The judge set the bail for that case at $1,000. But Sharper wasn’t getting off that easy! Accuser #2 was a lot more convincing. I guess the fact that Sharper’s DNA was recovered from her clothing had a lot to do with that.
