An Arizona mother has died after being thrown from a minivan while her 10-month-old son was being abducted on Tuesday.
PEOPLE reports that Brittany Martie, 30, succumbed to the injuries she sustained during the incident.
According to the Peoria Police statement, they responded to a 911 call for a domestic violence incident. Multiple callers reported a woman hanging onto a vehicle being driven down the road. The van was driven by Martie’s son’s non-custodial father, Eric Maes.
Martie was thrown from the vehicle, and authorities found her with life-threatening injuries when they arrived. She was taken to an area hospital where she later died.
An AMBER Alert was issued for the baby, Abel Maes, who was located early Wednesday morning after officers received a report of an abandoned child. The baby was found “in good health.”
According to the statement, Maes remains at large, and police consider him to be dangerous. He is described as 5’11”, 140 pounds, with brown eyes and hair. If anyone has any information regarding his locations, they are asked to contact the Peoria Police Department.
