Authorities have arrested a suspect in the strange disappearance of a Florida attorney.
Steve Cozzi, an attorney at Blanchard Law in Largo, vanished on March 21 after taking a bathroom break. He left behind his phone, wallet, keys, and car. There was no footage of him exiting the building on security surveillance.
Law firm employees say there was blood in the bathroom and the smell of bleach. Police listed him missing under “suspicious circumstances.”
On Sunday, the Largo Police Department confirmed that they had arrested 44-year-old Tomasz Roman Kosowski in relation to Cozzi’s disappearance.
Police reported a strong chemical odor in the men’s bathroom of the office and small drops of blood. A forensics investigation revealed a significant amount of blood in the same bathroom, Fox 13 reported.
They began looking for a suspicious person and vehicle spotted at the office building at the same time as the attorney.
Police say there is a connection between Cozzi and the suspect. Cozzi was listed as a legal representative on a case filed in 2019 by Dr. Tomasz Kosowski.
Authorities obtained a search warrant for Kosowski’s residence in Tarpon Springs. However, evidence retrieved came from a vehicle stop and search of Kosowski on Saturday.
Kosowski was transported to Pinellas County Jail and charged with First Degree Murder, according to a police report.
Authorities are still looking for the body of Steven Cozzi.
