With the new year comes new music… or so we hope.
2023 was a decent year when it came to artists dropping new music, and now, with 2024 being here, fans are looking forward to bigger and better releases. From well-established, big-name artists to new up-and-coming artists, fans are anticipating new music from select artists. Of course, with rumors circulating on who’s expecting to drop there’s a lot to be in high hopes for.
Tyla
With the success of her hit single ‘Water’ Tyla has had an amazing year in 2023. Her #WaterChallenge went viral all over TikTok and social media. She later followed up with additional singles ‘Truth or Dare,’ ‘Butterflies’ and ‘On and On’ announcing that she would be dropping an album in March of 2024.

Cardi B
It’s been almost six years since Cardi dropped her first album, Invasion of Privacy, which catapulted her into becoming a megastar. This album also earned her a Grammy for Best Rap Album, making history as the first solo female artist to do so since Lauryn Hill back in 1999. The ‘Bodak Yellow’ artist has dropped numerous singles since then, but fans are hoping to receive a full project this year.
A$AP Rocky
For years, fans have long-awaited A$AP’s fourth album, Don’t Be Dumb. Back in October, Rocky declared it to be his “best work yet,” expressing that he’s been really experimenting on this album. Metro Boomin, who is one of hip hop’s biggest producers, is rumored to make a major appearance. For the past couple of years, Rocky has been busy being the best dad to his two sons, RZA and Riot, with the one and only bad gyal Rihanna. With 2024 ahead, fans are hoping he “gets off of Rihanna” and finally releases the new album.
Fabolous
The Brooklyn-raised rapper has been busy on tour and dropping his freestyles, OSHO, Snooze, Selfish, and Bensgiving. Upkeeping his consistency and remaining one of the best lyricists of today, fans are awaiting his new project, The Reload. In an interview with HipHopDX, Fab rejected any possibility of fans seeing another S.O.U.L Tape but assured fans that new music is still on the way with The Reload. ““I’m working on a new project. It’s called The Reload,” Loso explained. “I’m actually trying to figure out when to be able to release it. Again, this project is stemming from places where I’m at now versus — I wanna say I’ve been working on it for a little while so it’s probably from around now to about 2019, 2020. So really, with me working all through that time, I was able to give little pieces of myself in different times.”
Rihanna
The number one question the billionaire Bajan receives is when is she going to drop another album. Ducking and dodging the question, performing the Super Bowl LVII, and running her multiple Fenty businesses, fans are still awaiting the new album. It’s been eight years since Rih dropped ANTI, and has stated numerous times that she’ll be dropping, but she’s also shared that there have been many songs she’s fallen in and out of love with. She has informed us that when she does drop, it’ll be completely different than anything she’s ever done.
Usher
Soon to be headlining the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show, Usher is also set to release his new album, Coming Home, on the same day, February 11th. This will be his first solo album since 2016. In an interview he conducted with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Usher shared, “I’ve been coming home in a lot of different ways. In a sense, I’m coming home because I’m in that comfortable space.”
Jennifer Lopez
Just after Valentine’s Day on February 16th, J-Lo is set to release her new studio album, This Is Me… Now. Considering it’s been almost a decade since the release of her last album and all that has happened in her life since then, we can expect the unexpected. What one can definitely expect is a sequel to 2002’s “Dear Ben,” a song for her husband, Ben Affleck, which featured on her album This is Me… Then. The project will also be accompanied by a film on Prime Video.
Ice Spice
After having a successful year in 2023, from attending the Met Gala, being a surprise guest on Taylor Swift’s tour, getting two features from Nicki Minaj, and dropping her EP, Ice Spice has her fans waiting for her to release the full project. Already hinting at new music, giving us a preview to her newest single, “think you the shit, bitch! you not even the fart,” fans are in high hopes to receive a new project sooner than later.
J. Cole
In 2023, we got some of the best features from Cole World. While working with artists like Nicki Minaj, Burna Boy, Lil Durk, and Drake, Cole has kept his fans content, but it’s safe to say that they are still waiting on an album. There has been some conversation that he is working to release his project, The Fall Off, but there has been no prospective date to look forward to.

Beyonce
After sold-out shows, touring the world, and releasing the AMC film for her Renaissance album, 2023 proved to be a busy year for Beyonce. When originally releasing Renaissance back in 2022, Beyonce shared that it was a three-act project. With keeping that in mind, fans are hoping to receive something in 2024.
