Since A$AP Rocky’s Sweden street brawl, the Harlem-bred rapper has been hit with a series of unfortunate events, including his arrest and incarceration in deplorable conditions. But now, after the Swedish Supreme Court denied the rapper’s appeal for release, the rapper’s management team has revealed even more bad news, as a result of the arrest.
According to a statement from the rapper’s management team, Rocky’s European tour dates and festival appearances throughout the month of July have been canceled.
“ASAP Rocky is being detained in a Swedish jail for an unknown period of time for acting in self-defense during an altercation that took place,” management told the festival that is set to take place in Barcelona. “Due to this unfortunate situation, he is forced to cancel his European festival and tour dates in July.”
The rapper initially traveled to Europe to complete his tour and hit up a few festivals. But, things took a turn for the worse after the violent altercation with a man, who, according to Rocky and his crew, was following and harassing them for blocks. Although he documented the events leading up to the altercation, Rocky and two others were still arrested for assault in the incident.
So far, according to Complex, Rocky has missed his show in Norway at the Kadetten Festival, the Open’er Festival in Poland, Longitude in Dublin, Wireless in London and a tour date in Russia. In the wake of his arrest and extended hold, the rapper is expected to miss his appearance at Splash! Festival in Germany, Dour Festival in Belgium, Atlas Weekend in Ukraine, Sonar Festival in Barcelona, Melt! Festival in Germany and the Tomorrowland festival in Belgium.
