Social media is dragging rapper Asian Doll after she announced that she was throwing an “Indian-themed” birthday party.
The former 1017 signee announced her 25th birthday bash on Sunday and shared a flyer for the upcoming shindig on Monday, which featured an image of herself and the words, “Asian Doll Escapes To India.” The advertisement for the celebration also stated that attendees must abide by a strict dress code consistent with “Indian attire” and had a Bollywood-inspired soundbite attached to it.

While many people dragged her on Sunday when news of the “Indian” party first circulated, social media exploded when the “Nunnadet S—“ rapper posted the flyer and subsequently let it be known that she was not changing the theme, despite the outrage.

This is not the rapper’s first time being called out for cultural appropriation. For much of her career, Asian Doll, who has recently gone by the moniker Asian Da Brat, has been chastised for referring to herself as “Asian.” However, she has not allowed the criticism to phase her.
Should Asian Doll change the theme of her party, or is the entire ordeal being blown out of proportion?
