Producer ATL Jacob recently appeared on The Baller Alert Show with hosts Ferrari Simmons and BT, where he addressed several key topics, including his recent Twitter exchange with Cardi B, his role as a father, and the launch of his new record label, Trim Records. Known for producing hits for top artists like Future and Lil Baby, Jacob gave fans insight into his evolving career and personal life.
Jacob, who was accompanied by his new artist Javor, started the interview by introducing the rising talent. Javor, who hails from Gwinnett, Georgia, is the latest signee to Trim Records, a label Jacob recently founded after parting ways with a previous business partner.
“We’re working on some crazy stuff,” Jacob said, speaking highly of Javor’s abilities and hinting at upcoming music releases.
One of the main topics discussed during the show was ATL Jacob’s Twitter drama with Cardi B. The situation began when Jacob posted a tweet that Cardi misinterpreted as being directed at her during a tense moment. Jacob clarified that the tweet was a general statement, referencing a viral conversation online, and not aimed at the rapper.
“I never shaded her. I didn’t even know there was drama going on when I tweeted,” Jacob explained. “It was just a misunderstanding, and I respect Cardi and Offset too much to go back and forth.”
Jacob said he wanted to clear the air, emphasizing that the tweet was unrelated to Cardi B or her personal issues at the time. “As a man, I don’t go back and forth with women. It was all just confusion,” he added.
Jacob also spoke at length about his decision to start his own record label, Trim Records. He explained that after discovering certain values didn’t align with a previous business partner, he decided to part ways and create his own label.
“I had to step away and start fresh,” Jacob said, adding that Trim means something that’s “popping” or “fire.” He shared his excitement about the label’s potential and revealed that Trim Records is looking for unique talent. “I’m always searching for artists who bring something different.”
Jacob also revealed that he’s been focused on developing Javor’s career, with plans for major releases in the near future.
In addition to discussing his professional ventures, Jacob opened up about the impact of fatherhood on his life. He noted how having children has added more structure to his busy lifestyle.
“My kids are older now, so it’s a lot more organized,” Jacob said. “They’re in school, and it gives me time to work during the day and actually sleep at night.”
He shared that, unlike earlier in his career, when he would spend all night in the studio, he now tries to maintain a better balance between his personal and professional life. “I get some real rest now,” he joked.
As the conversation wrapped up, Jacob hinted at upcoming projects without revealing too many details. He mentioned that there are big things on the horizon for Trim Records and that fans can expect some new music soon.
“I’ve got some special stuff coming out, but I like to keep things under wraps until it’s time,” he said.
