An Atlanta woman was allegedly accidentally shot while her neighbor was cleaning his gun.
On Friday night, 36-year-old Carlether Foley was lying down in her bed when she was suddenly struck by a bullet fired by her neighbor, Maxwell Williamson. According to police, the man, 22, was cleaning his weapon when the aspiring actress was shot.
Afterward, Williamson went to the woman’s home and left a note on her door apologizing for any damage he caused. Foley’s 17-year-old son came to her room to find her lifeless body and called the police. Now Foley’s family is mourning her sudden and expected death.
“I’ve never experienced the hurt, the pain that I’m feeling. I don’t know what to do,” said Jacquline Foley, the woman’s mother. “You had no right to take my baby from me. You had no business taking her life away from her child. He’s 17 years old. This is his last year in school. You have hurt my family. You took my baby.”
Foley’s son, Keyandre says he’s simply in shock. “It don’t feel real. I found my mama by myself. I just don’t get it. I don’t understand,” he told Houston’s ABC13. ”
Over the weekend, Williamson was arrested. He is now being held at the Gwinnett County Jail.
