The Atlanta Falcons lead by example after becoming the first NFL team to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell previously announced that players wouldn’t get paid for missed games due to unvaccinated players. In addition, teams would be forced to forfeit games if they could not play due to COVID-19 cases among players. Determined not to interfere with their bags, the Falcons made sure that every player took the shot.
With every player now being fully vaccinated, they will no longer be required to take a daily coronavirus test, wear masks, or self-isolate if they come into contact with an infected person.
At the beginning of training camp, the Falcons had five players on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Luckily, they have all since been removed.
The franchise has also been working hard to get Falcons fans vaccinated as well. During last Friday’s preseason game, vaccines were being offered to all attendees at the Mercedes-Benz stadium.
While other teams may not have reached 100% vaccination yet, the NFL’s immunization push is going well. Nearly 97% of all players have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
