Police arrested a customer who shot two Subway workers over his sandwich having “too much” mayonnaise.
Police officers in Atlanta arrested Melvin Williams after they say he shot two Subway employees over a botched sandwich order. The issue was there was too much mayo on the sandwich, WSBTV reports.
On Sunday, a little after 6:30 p.m., police responded to a Circle K gas station located at the intersection of Northside and Markham St. after receiving a call that someone had been shot. Deputy Police Chief Charles Hampton Jr. said the male customer “could not resolve the conflict,” and it led to the shooting.
“There was something wrong with the sandwich that made him so upset that he decided to take out his anger on two of the employees,” Hampton said, The Washington Post reports.
Police learned that two women were shot after an issue over a food order. One of the women was 26-year-old Brittany Macon, who was killed. The other female worker was a 24-year-old worker who was shot in front of her 5-year-old son. The 24-year-old is in critical condition, the news outlet reports.
A third worker fired shots at the gunman.
