Well, that escalated quickly!
Over the weekend, legendary comedian, Katt Williams sat down with V-103’s Frank and Wanda In the Morning to discuss all things comedy.
While Williams made media headlines for his “nuclear-hot takes on some of today’s top comedians, including Tiffany Haddish, Kevin Hart, Jerrod Carmichael and Hannibal Buress,” black Twitter got ahold of a separate portion of the interview that ultimately left Atlanta radio personality, Wanda Smith-Sellers, embarrassed.
About fifteen minutes in, after Williams’ rant, he directed his attention to the radio host, which sparked an on-air comedic back and forth.
“Hurry up and get to the salon,” Wanda roasted, after Williams clowned her cooking. “Your hair is…”
“My hair is 19 inches long and I have no perm,” Williams said. “Oops…”
“Only one of our hair is moving while we talk,” he continued. “Tell Wanda to take off them headphones and that wig. That wig and them headphones come together?”
As the two continued, he called her the black Lane Bryant, then said, “If you can’t get your blood pressure down, you can’t calm me down. If your cholesterol is 600.”
“Only one of us has $12 worth of jewelry on,” he added, as Wanda giggled.
The two went back and forth for a short while longer before the interview ended, but now, since then, Williams says Wanda sent her husband on him over the jokes.
According to ABC 13 Action News, Williams said Wanda’s husband approached him and pointed a gun in his face after their appearance at the Atlanta Comedy Theatre on Saturday night.
Williams then reported the incident to an off-duty officer at the club, revealing that the suspect, Lamorris Sellers ran next door to the Food Depot convenience store. Afterward, Sellers confirmed the incident to police, revealing that he did approach Williams in the wake of his verbal dispute with his wife. However, he claimed he did not pull a gun, though he did admit to carrying one.
Instead, he said as he chased Williams into the Food Depot, his gun fell from his waistband and he picked it up, but never pointed.
In the meantime, officials are investigating the situation to find out the truth, but surveillance footage doesn’t show Sellers’ gun.
