Atlanta-based songwriter, Justin Wright, received a life sentence without the possibility of parole after being found guilty of murdering his girlfriend.
According to the Quad-City Times, Wright, who was convicted of first-degree murder in April for the killing of 20-year-old Wilanna Bibbs, received his sentencing last week. On May 9, 2021, Bibbs tragically lost her life when she was fatally shot at a residence in Davenport, Iowa.
During the sentencing hearing, Thomas Bibbs, the father of the victim, revealed that Wright took his daughter’s life over a $70 dispute. The couple had been in a relationship for a few months prior to the incident.
Wright remained silent and did not address the court during the hearing. Additionally, when Wright’s mother requested to bid her son farewell as he was being escorted out, a deputy declined her request.
In 2011, Wright established Camp Entertainment Worldwide. As the founder of the company, he collaborated with notable artists such as Bow Wow, Timbaland, Kash Doll, and DJ Khaled. Through his work, Wright achieved significant success as a multi-platinum songwriter in association with these acts.
