During closing arguments in the civil trial between Soulja Boy and his former assistant, who alleges she was assaulted, raped, and imprisoned during her year of employment, attorney Ron Zambrano accused the rapper of being manipulative in court.
One notable point came when Zambrano criticized Soulja’s demeanor, particularly his choice of eyewear. The Atlanta lyricist had worn clear lenses throughout the proceedings, which he admitted were for style rather than vision correction. Zambrano suggested this was part of Soulja’s “masterclass performance.”
“He’s an actor,” Zambrano said. “He’s a performer. He hasn’t owned up to one thing. And I ask, respectfully, that you don’t fall for that act.”
Zambrano even reportedly called the frames “fake glasses.”
Among the many things Soulja Boy is being called out on in closing arguments today in his civil sexual battery trial is the fact that he’s worn eye glasses through the trial when he doesn’t actually need them.
The woman’s lawyer just referred to them as his “fake glasses.”

The trial featured stark contradictions in testimony, with the 34-year-old denying the accusations of violence, claiming he never hired the plaintiff, and describing the allegations as “disgusting.” His attorney, Rickey Ivie, argued that the plaintiff’s desire for payment was the true motivation behind the case. The woman, testifying under the pseudonym Jane Doe, claimed she endured numerous instances of abuse and was also not paid properly. She is seeking over $70 million in damages from Soulja.
