Tony Buzbee isn’t backing down.
The Houston attorney has filed a lawsuit against Roc Nation, lawyers Marcy Croft, and Quinn Emanuel, claiming they broke several laws, including barratry and impersonating a public official.
Buzbee’s firm says that agents working for Roc Nation illegally targeted one of their former clients Gerardo Garcia.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Garcia alleges two investigators approached him at his home, falsely claiming to represent the State of Texas. They allegedly attempted to convince him to sue Buzbee, promising the potential for significant financial gain.
In his statement, Buzbee also accuses the defendants of trying to block his firm from pursuing cases related to Sean “Diddy” Combs in New York.
“The conduct isn’t just alleged—it was caught on tape,” he added, emphasizing the severity of the situation.
Garcia says he secretly recorded the encounter, during which one investigator admitted to working with Marcy Croft, a lawyer associated with Roc Nation’s philanthropic arm, TeamRoc.
Roc Nation is firing back at the accusations. A spokesperson called Buzbee’s lawsuit “nothing but a sham” and dismissed it as a “pathetic attempt to distract and deflect attention.” They added, “This sideshow won’t change the ultimate outcome, and true justice will be served soon.”
This lawsuit comes on the heels of another legal battle, where Jay-Z’s attorneys recently accused Buzbee of extortion in a separate lawsuit.
