This is a classic case of failing to “Choose Your Friends Wisely”. Auburn Safety Demetruce McNeal was arrested with former Auburn football players Jonathan Evans and Jawara White. They were all charged with second degree possession of marijuana. Coach Gus Malzahn dismissed McNeal because he states that “We have high expectations both on and off the field for our players.” No pun intended.
This is very unfortunate because McNeal should not have chosen to do this and he was starting his SENIOR year at Auburn. Student-Athletes sometimes you have to separate from your friends that are no longer on the team to stay focused on your goal. You really have to make better choices on the people you allow in your presence. Now McNeal will have to wait to see what happens from here. One thing is for sure he will not be playing for Auburn this season.
