The FBI has issued an arrest warrant for Brian Laundrie after a federal indictment charged him in connection to his girlfriend Gabby Petito’s death.
The suspect has been charged with one count of use of unauthorized access devices, including a Capital One debit card, court records stated.
“On Wednesday, September 22, 2021, the US District Court of Wyoming issued a federal arrest warrant for Brian Christopher Laundrie,” a statement from the FBI Denver Division said.
Laundrie is accused of using the card on or around August 30 through and including on or about September 1, 2021. Authorities claim he made purchases in Wyoming and elsewhere and “obtained things of value aggregating to $1,000 or more.” The warrant does not specify whose Capital One card Laundrie used, but his girlfriend did have a card with the company and a checking account.
The 22-year-old victim was last seen alive on August 27 at a restaurant in Wyoming, the New York Post reported.
“While this warrant allows law enforcement to arrest Mr. Laundrie, the FBI and our partners across the country continue to investigate the facts and circumstances of Ms. Petito’s homicide,” FBI Denver Special Agent in Charge Michael Schneider.
Laundrie was reported missing on Friday after returning home to North Port, Florida on September 1 — without his girlfriend — following the two’s two weeks-long cross-country trip.
