B. Simone is clapping back with confidence after folks online questioned her switch from luxury stores to more affordable fashion. It all started when she opened up during a podcast episode last month about managing her money differently while investing in her new platform, the Let’s Try This Again app. The comedian shared that she once went from Bloomingdale’s to H&M in the same breath after realizing she didn’t want to splurge like she used to. That honest moment had some people jumping to conclusions, with critics calling her broke or questioning if she had fallen off financially.
But B. Simone didn’t let the internet tell her story. She hopped on Instagram Live to address the chatter directly, reading some of the shady comments out loud. One viewer asked, “Is she really broke?” and B responded without missing a beat: “Who said I was broke? Hold on now. I didn’t use those words.” She made it clear she never claimed to be broke and doubled down that she’s simply being smarter about her money while pouring everything into her brand.

When another commenter said, “You’re not funny at all,” B. Simone brushed it off with a smooth, “Aw, black baby. Bye. That’s your last comment you’ll ever be commenting.” She also confirmed her love for H&M, saying it’s one of her go-to spots and even joked about trying to shop there on the Fourth of July, only to find the store closed.
Throughout the live, her tone was playful yet firm, reminding fans and haters alike that her financial strategy is intentional. She’s not out here broke, she’s out here building. And if that means grabbing a cute fit from H&M instead of Bloomingdale’s, she’s doing it proudly.
So while some might see H&M as a downgrade, B. Simone is turning it into a power move. And based on her confidence and clapbacks, she’s not losing sleep over anybody’s opinion.
