Bad Bunny Leads With The Most Nominations For The 2022 American Music Awards

Bad Bunny takes the lead for having the most nominations for the 2022 American Music Awards.

The Puerto Rican performer is in first place for being the most-nominated artist for the award show. Bunny is currently included in eight categories with one being his first-ever nomination for artist of the year.

On Thursday, the award show mentioned that Bunny would tie with Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston for the most awards in a single year. However, this all depends on if he wins in each section.

Trailing closely behind him are Beyoncé, Drake, and Taylor Swift ,who each earned six nominations.

Harry Styles, Adele, and The Weeknd are next in line, holding five nominations a piece.

Nevertheless, newcomers have also scored a few spots with more than 40 artists receiving their first-ever nominations. Jack Harlow and Tems both are nominated for four categories while Latto received three. In addition, Blackpink, Anitta, and Swedish House Mafia all have one nomination each.

The award show is also including new categories such as Favorite K-Pop Artist, Favorite Afrobeats Artist, Favorite Rock Song, and Favorite Rock Album.

Fan voting is currently available on Twitter and the show’s website. Voting for the Favorite K-Pop Artist category will open November 1st. The AMAs will premiere live from the Microsoft ,Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 20th on ABC.
