Balenciaga is known for pushing the limits with its high-end fashion offering. However, the brand took a new approach earlier this year by debuting a sculpture paying homage to its line of sneakers.
The Runner Sculpture is a white porcelain keepsake that mimics a size 42 Balenciaga Runner. The Sculpture was available exclusively on the website and within its flagship stores in Beverly Hills, Beijing, Hong Kong, Dubai, London, Monaco, Paris, Shanghai, and Tokyo. While it didn’t take long for the ornament to sell out, considering that only 20 were made, the glass statues were priced at a staggering $7,290.

The designer monument is a part of Balenciaga’s “Object” collection, which features random mementos for the ultimate Balenci fans. Coffee cups, blankets, and travel pillows are all available in the line. However, one of their most ambitious Objects is the Laser Sneaker Cubes. The crystal boxes feature laser images of several Balenciaga sneakers, all priced at $650.
Though the Runner Sculpture is sold out, it is still listed on the Balenciaga website, which could signify that the fashion house is considering producing more of these coffee table staples. If so, will you be copping one?
