Amid the national success of Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club,” host Charlamagne tha God has managed to secure all types of bags, from television and film to behind-the-scenes production and literature.
In fact, throughout his years in the industry, Charlamagne has become one of the most important, yet controversial, voices in hip-hop. On Wednesday, Baller Alert caught up with the radio host to discuss the most recent headlines, from megachurch pastor, John Gray, to the break-up and make-up drama between Cardi B and Offset.
“I think that’s bullshit,” Charla said of John Gray’s backlash for buying his wife a 200,000 car for their anniversary. “They act like Rev. John Gray – all he does is be a pastor. That’s his calling, that’s what he’s good at, but he also has a book deal. He has a reality show on OWN, he has his own money outside of the church. So, as long as he didn’t use the churches money, what’s the problem?”
“I just think they’re taking out their disdain that they’ve historically had for megapastors on John Gray,” he continued before he opened up about the Cardi and Offset drama.
“I never honestly cared cause that’s their relationship,” Charlamagne said. “If I was Offset, my piece of advice for him as somebody whose got experience in that situation, just give her some space. It’s an old cliche, ‘if you love something let it go, if it comes back to you it’s yours.’”
“They got a child together, I think just give her some space,” he continued. “You gotta be the change you want to see in the world. You can’t just come with the flowers and the cake and all that other stuff and say, ‘hey, take me back.’ You gotta really be the man she wants you to be.”
Just before the interview wrapped, Charlamagne scoffed at the idea of Carmelo Anthony being washed up. Basically, he said put some respect on Melo’s name.
