Late last month, Meek Mill released his highly-anticipated, fourth studio album, “Championships,” on Atlantic and Maybach Music Group. The album served as the first full-length project since his release, after serving five months behind bars for a probation violation.
Back in November 2017, the Philly-bred was sentenced to two to four years in prison for the violation, as the controversial judge on the case, Genece E. Brinkley, cited a failed drug test and unapproved travel. The violation came as part of Meek’s decades-old gun and drug case, which sparked widespread protests over the unfairness of probation.
Now, upon his release, Meek is opening up about the widespread support. In fact, on the “Championships” track, “What’s Free,” Meek name drops some of his high-profile supporters, including Michael Rubin, Robert Kraft, and Jay-Z. But, in a brief interview with Baller Alert, Meek explained that he’s grateful for all types of support.
“It feels good to get support on any level, coming from the hood where the only support you get is your mom,” Meek told us. “To have the whole world supporting you, it feels good.”
Congratulations to Meek Mill on the success of “Championships.”
