After more than two decades in the business, three albums and a record label, The Lox are back with new music, a documentary, and much more in the works.
On Thursday, Yonkers-bred group, comprised of East Coast rappers Sheek Louch, Styles P and Jadakiss, chopped it up with Baller Alert to push their new projects, and plug the best barber in the business.
“We got new solo albums,” Jadakiss said, as he revealed a documentary is also in the works. “But right now, we working on that new Lox album, top of the year. First and foremost.”
As the conversation continued, the group opened up about the current state of hip-hop, as well as the forever changing formulas of rap.
“It’s good, it’s for today,” Kiss said. “We all have kids and they seem to enjoy it, I enjoy some of it in the club when I’m turnt up. Rap’s like a ferris wheel, it’s going to keep turning and turning and turning and it’ll get back eventually to the formula that we’re used to and the basis of hip-hop, where you spitting bars over good production and content.”
“To each’s own, right now it’s doing what it’s doing, we just happy to be here,” Kiss added, before he opened up about the Migos and their claim to be the greatest rap group.
“Shout out to the Migos, they’re the greatest rap group….right now,” Kiss said. “But, it don’t go off right now, it goes off – how’s your story gonna end.”
The group then went on to commend Travis Scott on his No. 1 album, “Astroworld,” and his new gig to perform at the Super Bowl.
