Baller Alert’s Year-In Review: Hollywood Break-Ups

2021 has been a year of many changes and adjustments, especially in the love department for celebs. Some of our favorite celeb couples called it quits after years together, and others put an end to their romances after a brief stint. Here are the couples who parted ways this year.

1. Megan Good and DeVon Franklin

Last week, after nine years of marriage, Meagan Good and DeVon Franklin announced their decision to end their relationship. A source told PEOPLE the breakup was a “long time coming.” The two didn’t have children together.

2. Dr. Dre and Nicole Young

Following a gruesome divorce process that included a massive court battle, Dr. Dre, and his ex-wife Nicole Young filed for divorce after 24 years of marriage. The divorce ended with Dre being ordered to pay Young $100 million in their settlement. They share two children together.

3. Tiffany Haddish and Common

Haddish and Common told the world about their relationship back in August 2020. According to Page Six, while chatting on Steve-O’s podcast “Wild Ride,” the comedian said it was “the best relationship” she’d ever been in. The two split in November 2021.

4. Stevie J and Faith Evans

Stevie J and Faith Evans tied the knot on July 17, 2018. When the two first announced their marriage, it received some criticism due to Evans being once married to the late rapper Biggie Smalls. Biggie and Evans also share one child together; Stevie J worked with Biggie as a record producer. Ignoring the naysayers, the couple continued with their relationship until it came to a close in September 2021.

5. Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid

Since November 2015, Hadid and Malik had reportedly been off and on. News of their breakup came after the singer was accused of hitting Hadid’s mother during a disagreement, ET Online reports. The two officially called it quits back in October. They share one child, a daughter named Khai.

6. Miguel and Nazanin Mandi

Probably the most shocking breakup of them all was Miguel and Nazanin. The couple was together for 17 years and finally wed in November 2018. But in 2020, the two announced their departure from the relationship in September 2021. The pair left the relationship with no children.

7. Saweetie and Quavo

Saweetie announced the break-up back in March on Twitter saying, “I’m single. I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character. Presents don’t band aid scars and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women.” The rapper continued, “I emotionally checked out a long time ago and have walked away with a deep sense of peace and freedom. Excited for this new chapter of elevation .”

8. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian

Earlier this year, the two announced that they were getting a divorce. It had been in talks for months prior to their announcement, according to sources close to the two. The estranged couple seems to be doing well with co-parenting but it looks like Kanye isn’t moving too far from Kim Kardashian since he has purchased a home across the street from his old residence.

9. J.Lo and A-Rod

Jennifer Lopez and A-Rod called it quits earlier this year. There have been many speculations about why the two broke up. Sources claim that A-Rod was allegedly cheating on Jenny from the Block but he denied that. Since then, J.Lo has rekindled with Ben Affleck and the two seem to be hitting it off, again.

10. Lala Anthony and Carmelo Anthony

There have been rumors and speculations about the Anthonys for a while but Lala Anthony announced that the two are officially over. The estranged couple married in 2010 and share a son together, Kiyan.
