At the start of every New Year, many make promises or set goals of self-improvement for the upcoming year. Most people promise to improve their physical well-being by eating healthier, losing weight or to quit smoking. Others take a money-oriented approach by promising to improve their finances or their career. However, there are a quite a few people who should take a step away from social media, in an effort to clear their mind of the clutter and negative energy the virtual world brings. On the other hand, there are a couple who [need] to take a break, for the greater good of humanity.
So, as we near the end of 2017, it’s time to recognize some of the celebrities who should consider deactivating their social media accounts for a while, if not for good.
Rob Kardashian
Although Rob may be on better terms with his ex-fiance and baby mother, Blac Chyna, he still may need to take a full year off of social media. After putting on a show and making a complete fool of himself, while trying to expose and embarrass the mother of his child, Rob was temporarily suspended from his Instagram account. However, he quickly took his antics to Twitter, continuing to unload insults and allegations toward his child’s mother. Although the time has passed, the memories of his antics remain. And since his child may one day be exposed to the nonsense Rob spewed that day on the internet, he needs a permanent time-out from social media for the new year.
Azealia Banks
In 2016, we asked Orlando Brown, Soulja Boy, and Azealia Banks to take some time away from social media in the forthcoming year, and now as we wrap 2017, two out of three isn’t THAT bad. Better luck next year.
Donald Trump
Just one year after landing first on the list of Celebrities that need to delete their social media accounts in the New Year, the Celebrity-in-Chief has made it clear that he isn’t leaving the Twitterverse anytime soon. However, one must forever remember the moment, though brief, that Trump’s Twitter account was deactivated. Until we get the opportunity to experience a Twitterverse without Trump, let’s hope the Celebrity-in-Chief doesn’t Tweet us to war with North Korea in the meantime.
Kevin McCall
In the New Year, we want more for Mr. McCall. No more antagonizing Chris Brown on the internet, no more harassing your baby mother and her fiancé. Just music, from now on. However, in order to achieve the “more” that his fans are requesting, McCall may need to give up on social media. Or at least hire a team to monitor it for him, that way, he won’t be inclined to respond to every troll that lurks his way.
