Another day, another Baller falls asleep with a groupie and awakens to find out he is out thousands of dollars in cash and jewelry. I can’t even sympathize anymore because I’ve said it time and time again, call those girls a cab!
Shaun Rogers of the New York Giants learned a valuable lesson when he took a groupie home after the club and woke up to find she was missing along with $500k worth of jewelry. According to reports Rogers was staying at the Fountainebleu in Miami. Around 1am he and friends decided to hit up Sunday night hotspot, LIV. Allegedly they met a woman there and took her back to their hotel. Rogers put his valuables in his safe at 7am and continued to “party” until he fell asleep. When he woke up at 12:30pm that afternoon, he not only realized the girl was gone, but he also couldn’t get into his safe. Hotel security had to pry the safe open and that is when he realized his belongings were missing.
Among the items Rogers said were stolen:
diamond earrings worth $100,000; two wristwatches worth a combined $160,000; a gold necklace with gold pendant worth $50,000; gold bracelets worth $60,000; and a diamond Cuban necklace with a gold pendant worth $70,000
First of all, you wanted to show off THAT much that you were walking around with $500,000 worth of jewelry on your body? That right there screams MARK and if it wasn’t some groupie that got you I’m sure some gangsta would have. Second, how in the world did a groupie manage to get into your safe? Dudes get a little too relaxed.
