The trendy red-bottomed heel designer is making his big debut on the lipstick scene. Last Fall, he debuted his lipstick collection and now it seems that Christian Louboutin is back at it again with his latest beauty creation which draws inspiration from his longstanding love affair with lacquer. For his designs, he has often turned to the most brilliant of leathers and patent to create iconic accessories with the shiniest of finishes. Now, for the first time, this inspiration enters the world of lip colour with Loubilaque. High coverage, high shine, and high drama!
Loubilaque is Christian Louboutin’s most dramatic and transformative formula to date. With its attention-commanding shine, Loubilaque appears to magnify the colour on lips.
In keeping with Christian’s vision of beauty as objet d’art, the bottle is designed with thick clear walls carved with an intricate mermaid tail pattern to encapsulate the opulent colour like an elixir. Mounted with a small ring threaded with a silk ribbon, the vial can be worn as a pendant. This treasure is enclosed with a turret-like crown reminiscent of the ornate aesthetics of Middle Eastern antiquities and the Art Deco movement. Rouge Louboutin is distinctively topped in a silver and gold cap while all other shades are enclosed by gold caps.
The Christian Louboutin’s teardrop shape applicator combines both a flat surface for optimal dispersion and pointed shape to allow precision of contour. The lipstick is formulated with advanced pigment technology, Loubilaque delivers a patent-leather shine and full-bodied, true colour in just one coat.
The lipstick is presented in a re-usable black lacquer carton jewelry box including a silk ribbon and a silk carrying pouch.
The lipstick is available in a variety of colors: Colibretta, Rouge Louboutin, Bengali, Bikini, Casanovella, Altressa, Altareva, and Akenana. They are priced at $85 and can be purchased on Christian Louboutin’s website.
