“Power Book II: Ghost” star Paige Hurd and NBA pro Royce O’Neale are tying the knot.
The couple, who’ve been inseparable since the start of 2024, celebrated their milestone during a romantic getaway to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on February 13th. Surrounded by rose petals and candlelight, O’Neale surprised Hurd with a proposal, presenting a slice of red velvet cake with the question, “Will You Marry Me?” written on the plate.
“I was really excited because I knew Paige wasn’t expecting it,” O’Neale shared with People.
The Phoenix Suns star shared he had been planning this special moment for some time. Even though travel delays threw a wrench in his original plans, the proposal came “right on time.” Hurd expressed her surprise over the proposal.
“I had absolutely no idea,” she told the outlet. “I’m over the moon and so happy.”
Their love story started with Hurd being adamant about not dating, only to meet O’Neale at a time when she was “fasting and walking with God.” From there, their connection blossomed. O’Neale, who had long been a fan of Hurd’s acting work, even manifested their future together.
“She was my lifelong crush,” he admits.
Their whirlwind romance led them to realize they were meant to be together. Hurd says, “Royce is the most thoughtful, down-to-earth, gentle man I’ve ever known,” while O’Neale shares, “I knew I wanted to marry Paige and spend the rest of my life with her.”
The couple has not yet announced their wedding plans.
