2018 was a year to say the least, from losing some of our most beloved celebrities and cancelling some of our favorites to the most gut-wrenching break ups. But, amid all of the commotion of 2018, through all the ups and downs of this trying year, plenty of ballerific couples made up and made it through. Many of which, remained the topic of conversation throughout the year, as fans labeled them as their “relationship goals.”
So, in honor of those who made it through and to memorialize those who called it quits, let’s revisit the most surprising break ups and make ups of 2018.
Break Ups
Terrence J and Jasmine Sanders – Back in November of 2016, Terrence confirmed his relationship with model Jasmine Sanders. After going public, the two flaunted their relationship on social media, complete with sweet posts, PDA and double dates. In a 2017 interview with Baller Alert, Terrence J opened up about his relationship Sanders, revealing that she was “The One.” But now, one year later, the two have quietly called it quits after a car crash exposed an alleged affair, on Terrence’s part. Although the two have yet to confirm the split, Sanders made it clear that she was not the woman behind the wheel of Terrence’s car when it crashed, and scrubbed the host’s presence from her account.
Larsa Pippen and Scottie Pippen – Back in 2016, Scottie Pippen filed for divorce from his wife, Larsa Pippen, after 19 years together. At the time, a rep for the couple said, “Although they are no longer to be married, Larsa remains hopeful that she and Scottie will always do what is best for their 4 beautiful children and jointly raise them with love and respect.” However, one year later, the couple called off their split and reconciled in an attempt to repair their relationship. But, in November, Larsa filed to pull the plug on her divorce, for good, as sources said the two “have just grown apart over the last few years.”
Lori Harvey and Memphis Depay – In the Summer of 2017, Steve Harvey took to Twitter to announce the engagement of his youngest daughter, Lori Harvey, writing, “Marjorie and I are proud to announce the engagement of our youngest daughter Lori to Memphis Depay,” he wrote, adding, “this young man is a good one! Congrats!”
Less than a year after the official announcement, the two quietly called it quits. However, it wasn’t until recently that news surfaced of the split, when B. Scott confirmed Harvey’s relationship with Trey Songz. In fact, upon the confirmation, Future also hinted at a former fling with Harvey – but speaking of Future….
Future and Brittni – The drama between Future and his baby mama, Brittni, is a never ending story of break-ups and make-ups, but when Future emerged with Bow Wow’s ex and baby mama, Joie Chavis, that’s when things took a turn for the worse. In November, Brittni announced that she was done with Future for good – after previously breaking up and making up with him over Chavis’ pregnancy- but she did not say she would stop doing the absolute most. In fact, after that, Brittni continued throwing shots at Chavis all the way up until recently, when Chavis shared first photos of her newborn with Future, Hendrix.
Cardi B and Offset – Earlier this month, Cardi B took to Instagram to reveal the status of her relationship with husband, Offset. “I’ve been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute,” the rapper said, adding that, “We’ve got a lot of love for each other, but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time.” Cardi’s announcement came amid rumors of infidelities on Offset’s part, as pictures and text messages surfaced between Offset and other women. But, despite the split, Offset spent thousands in an attempt to win his wife back, with the support of his celebrity peers. Problem is, it didn’t work. Except for that one time…
Make Ups
Cardi B and Offset – Weeks after Cardi B announced her split from Offset, the regular degular girl from the Bronx was spotted vacationing in Puerto Rico with her baby daddy, Offset. Although she was pissed about the fact that the pictures were leaked, she revealed that the two did reconcile. But, not for good. “I just had to get f*cked,” Cardi said on Instagram Live, as fans questioned the status of the couple’s relationship. “I feel rejuvenated, b*tch,” she added.
Lala and Carmelo Anthony – Nearly two years after Lala and Carmelo Anthony quietly called it quits over allegations of an affair on Carmelo’s part, sources told US Weekly that the two are officially back together. After eight years of marriage, the two have decided to work it out, together.
Terrence Howard and Mira Pak – Three years after Terrence Howard secretly divorced his ex-wife, Mira Pak, Howard took to Instagram to announce he’s got that old thing back. “Bloodisthickerthanwaterbutloveisthegluethatbindsus,” Howard wrote, underneath a slideshow of photos of Pak’s new ring, created by Ben Baller. #LoveWins.
Lyrica Anderson and A1– At the end of the most recent “Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood” season, Lyrica Anderson was left with a broken family, lingering rumors and a baking baller baby. But now, after months of reconciliation, paternity tests and music therapy, Lyrica and her husband, A1, have made up and welcomed a beautiful baby boy, Ocean.
Rasheeda and Kirk – After Kirk Frost’s cheating scandal unfolded on “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta,” the two have officially reconciled and moved on from the baby mama drama. Following the loss of Frost’s mother, Rasheeda comforted her husband and eventually made amends for the sake of their family.
