The silk press is a staple within the Black hair community, and several of our favorite celebrities are known to slay this style.
The summer months are not necessarily the most popular time for a silk press, considering the humidity does not allow the style to stay intact very long. However, that has not stopped some of our favorites from risking the heat to rock their straightened natural hair. Presidential candidate Kamala Harris is the undisputed Queen of the silk presses, having famously worn this look before and during her tenure as Vice President. Harris has managed to keep every strand of her flawless hair as gorgeous as ever while directing her presidential campaign with no signs of switching it up. She has attributed her silk press success to a round brush, admitting she keeps heat away from her coils as much as possible.
Not everyone can rival Harris, though many have looked amazing with their silk presses, no matter the season.
