Ballerific Health – The Truth About Waist Training

The trend of wearing corsets and waist trimmers to shrink your waist is nothing new. Women have been using these garments for this exact purpose since the early 1900s. However, in this day and age there are many misconceptions to what waist training actually does. When it comes to weight loss a waist cincher or corset is just a supplement. Using one alone will NOT HELP YOU LOSE WEIGHT. Here’s why.

Long term use of waist trainers will alter the 4 floating ribs resulting in a smaller looking waist. However, to get a flatter stomach you will have to focus on a clean diet and exercising. Wearing the trainer alone will not help you lose weight and you can actually still gain weight if your diet isn’t on point. This is what happened to me when I first started waist training. Yes, my waist did get smaller, but I still had a belly. It was a curvy belly, but nonetheless it was a gut!

When it comes to exercising, you can workout using your waist trainer(if it’s a cincher, I don’t recommend working out in steel boning corsets because of the intense compression), and it will make your stomach sweat because of the compression which will help with weight loss. However, regardless of if you workout or not the garment will still do it’s job which is alter those floating ribs with compression.

Waist training DOES WORK, it’s been around forever and people have seen results. Yes, it will make your stomach look flatter and you will instantly lose a dress size or 2 while wearing the garment, but you can’t wear a corset forever, it’s actually kind of dangerous. Don’t let these advertiser make you believe this is a quick fix to your weight problem because it’s not.You still have to do your part with diet and exercise to get permanent results. Corsets and cinchers hold the same rank as a diet pill in health and fitness. If you’re not going to change your unhealthy ways, it’s not going to help you lose weight.
