Nike is set to release a pair of Air Max 97s dripped down in Swarovski crystals this week.
As with the previous Swarovski Air Max 97s release, the new Polar Blue colorway of the shoes comes with an eye-popping price tag of $400. The sneakers will drop in women’s sizes on Nike’s SNKRS app this Thursday.
When released in 2017, the Swarovski kicks referenced the OG “Silver Bullet” colorway and bring back the look for next week’s release. The color blocking and details remain unchanged from the OG pair but switch the red accents and branding with the Polar Blue colorway. The rest of the show, including the metallic upper to the white segments of the outsole, remains the same.
According to Sole Collector, the 2017 release used a total of 55,690 crystals. The description of the upcoming release does not mention the number of crystals used. Still, it describes the shoe as “merging the luxury of runway fashion with the fast-paced aesthetic of the vintage Air Max.”
