Friday is here and so are several of our favs with new music for our listening delight.
This New Music Friday is particularly exciting, as it marks the return of both Eminem and Roddy Ricch. In March, Em announced that he would be releasing a new album in 2024, four years after his last project, “Music to Be Murdered By.” He unveiled the long-awaited first single, “Houdini,” which has sparked some outrage online, as it appeared to take a dig at Megan Thee Stallion.
On the track, Slim Shady rapped, “If I was to ask for Megan Thee Stallion if she would collab with me, would I really have a shot at a feat?” This seems to be a play on words, as Meg was previously shot in the foot by Tory Lanez.
As social media debates the lyric, Roddy Ricch also moves to please his fans with the new track, “Survivor’s Remorse.” Ricch last released a mixtape in 2022, “Feed Tha Streets III” and took a hiatus from both music and social media. The track, produced by Turbo, was also released with an accompanying visual, ushering in Ricch’s “Navy” era, with a project of this name expected later this year.
While Eminem and Roddy Ricch roll out their latest tunes, several other rappers have used this Friday to introduce new vibes for the weekend. Here are the tracks we have in rotation.
