Remember the days where online dating was the new fad, with sites like Match.com and Singlepeoplemeet.com were popping up everywhere? People were excited at the ease and convenience of finding “the one” without having to go to dodgy bars, or failed blind dates. Today, dating has become even more convenient, as thousands of dating apps allow you to not only find “the one”, but a hook-up, one-night stand, or threesome addition, all in the palm of your hand. Because you don’t have time to go out and find a date in person, you surely don’t have time to search through all of the different apps, so I came up with some of the top five dating apps, no matter what you’re looking for.
Tinder
Tinder is an app that allows it’s users to swipe either right (yes) or left (no) to people’s pictures, while they swipe right or left on yours also. Once there’s a match, either one of you have the ability to initiate conversation; if there’s no match, you won’t be allowed to make contact. Tinder is free for users who want to find hook-ups in their local areas, but has a Plus option that allows it’s users to search in various locations.
3ndr
Brought to you by the same creators of Tinder, this dating app works much the same, except its for threesomes! The app works by allowing users to enter what they are looking for exactly: to join a couple, find two randoms for a threesome, or find the third wheel for you and your spouse. Unlike it’s other counterparts, 3ndr isn’t free and requires users to pay for their services.
Grinder
This is a popular dating app for gay men, boasting 2 million daily active users in 196 different countries. The app uses GPS technology to helps it’s users find other gay men in their area, showing their exact distance, and allowing them to share pictures, or chat. This app is free for users who don’t need all the frills, but offers a Grindr Xtra option for those willing to spend a little cash. Grindr Xtra, takes away all of the banner advertising, give users increased functionality, and includes a list of enhanced features.
Ok Cupid
Another popular dating app, uses algorithms to find matching percentages for its millions of users. Ok Cupid takes three values into consideration for each question they ask: 1)Your answer 2) How you’d like someone else to answer 3)How important the question is to you. There are about 3000 optional questions to answer, to help narrow your search for the one. This dating app is absolutely free, so users don’t have to worry about any in-app purchases or upgrade costs.
Bumble
Is much like Tinder, allowing users to swipe right to approve a potential hook up, or left to decline. The difference between Tinder and Bumble, though is that the women are in control. If two users swipe right on each other, they are allowed to chat, but only if the woman initiates the conversation. Another cool function is that women only have 24 hours to initiate before the mutual connection disappears: time is of the essence.
So, if you’re having trouble finding a date, or maybe you just have some sexual tension you need to release, there are plenty of options at your disposal. Remember to be safe, and happy dating!
