The Cleveland Cavaliers have the best record in the Easter Conference. The ideal scenario for the Cavaliers is LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. However, Zach Lowe of ESPN suspects, if the Cavaliers come up short again, and fail to win an NBA title, the team would likely trade Kevin Love.
Apparently, the Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics have spoken about a possible Kevin Love trade. Which according to Bleacher Report, has since died down with Boston offering a ‘low-ball package’ that the Cavs would not accept.
Lowe explains, “Love’s production has often suffered as the pick-and-roll offense featuring he and James remains in effective. Teams simply switch and leave the Cavs in isolation set, slowing the offense down. While Irving remains a score first point guard, leaving James as the team’s primary playmaker.”
The trade would come in an effort to improve the team’s style and chemistry. Although sources say, Love believes the team will kick things up in the post season.
Love is averaging 15.7 points and 9.9 rebounds per game this season. In less than two seasons with the Cavs, he’s averaged 16.1 points and 9.8 rebounds. While, in six seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Love averaged 19.2 points and 12.2 rebounds per game.
If Cleveland did decide to trade Love, there would be no hesitation from other teams interested in the power forward.
