Ballerific Sports: Lions Calvin Johnson Plans To Retire

According to reports, Calvin “#Megatron” Johnson has hinted that he has plans to retire. The 30 year old receiver reportedly told family and a close circle of friends that 2015 would be his final year in the NFL. Supposedly, he’s also told Lions coach  Jim Caldwell the same thing a day after the regular season ended. 

The five time Pro-bowler has spent nine seasons in the NFL and despited just being 30 years old, his body is undeniably beaten down. Coach Caldwell reportedly urged Johnson to take some time to think on his decision to retire and out of respect, Johnson did so. The Lions have not given up hope that Johnson could change his mind, however sources close to Johnson say that he is firm and content in his decision. 

Calvin Johnson has not confirmed his decision to the public, but according to teammates and family, it’s looking like a done deal.
