On the heels of the Charges taking their talents to Los Angeles, the Oakland Raiders are ready to relocate as well. According to NFL.com, the Raiders will file relocation paperwork to move from Oakland to Las Vegas. This decision comes after a year of planning, debate and many years of a sub-par stadium option in Oakland.
Previously, NFL commissioner said that “if the (Raiders) decide that they can’t make it work in Oakland and they decide that they want to file for relocation, then their window is from when they get eliminated from the playoffs to Feb. 15.” The Raiders were eliminated after a loss to the Houston Texans in the Wild Card round of the AFC Playoffs last week.
Sources close to the team say that the city of Oakland has made no progress to keep the team. If and when the Raiders officially file, it will begin a process that should take several weeks. During that time there will be committee meetings to analyze the move from all sides, then a vote of all the owners.
Raiders fans, will you stick by your team if they decide to hightail it to Las Vegas?
