TMZ is reporting that #LosAngelesRams running back, #TreMason, was involved in a situation over the weekend where the cops were called to his home in Florida.
He WAS NOT arrested.
This past Saturday’s incident marks the 5th time in a four month period that the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Department was called to his residence. According to #TMZ, Mason had agreed to check into a facility to resolve issues at least one time. They are also reporting that Mason’s family has become worried about his mental health citing “a string of bizarre behavior and angry outburst… they’re worried for his safety”. Mason has NO HISTORY of hurting anyone.
Mason’s behavior could be a combination of several things. He has gone from being an individual that could go anywhere in peace to becoming a well-known player. His privacy has been shattered. Anything he does, even on a small scale, is brought to the public’s attention and placed under public scrutiny. That is enough to adversely affect the toughest person.
Given that Mason is a running back, it wouldn’t be a far off call to link his behavior to early signs of #CTE. He has possibly endured more concussions than he was able to recognize. Unfortunately, CTE can be only diagnosed in death. Knowing the league is aware of the risk factors, there should be additional support in place for players that exhibit any symptom linked to CTE.
This isn’t a time to judge, belittle or shame Mason. No one wants to possibly have any form of a mental issue no matter how minute it is. Mason is vulnerable. He needs support and encouragement. Hopefully, he will work through this. BA has him in our prayers. #BallerificSports #BallerAlert
