The highly anticipated fourth edition of Forever Is Now is set to return to the iconic Giza Pyramids from October 24 to November 16, 2024. This exhibition will transform the ancient plateau into an open-air museum, showcasing contemporary art from twelve international artists. The Pyramids, one of the world’s most recognizable UNESCO World Heritage Sites, will serve as both backdrop and inspiration, as artists reimagine their works through a cross-cultural lens.
Curated by Nadine Abdel Ghaffar, the exhibition explores art as a medium for discovery. “Just as archaeologists unearth history, our artists are uncovering new interpretations of the past through their contemporary works,” Abdel Ghaffar explains. This year’s edition will feature interactive installations, light sculptures, and participatory pieces that invite visitors to reflect on the connection between history and the present.
For the first time, Asian artists will participate, including South Korean mosaic artist Ik-Joong Kang, adding to the event’s international flavor. In another debut, two AI-based projects will be included, expanding the artistic conversation into the digital realm. Egyptian-American designer Hassan Ragab, supported by Meta, and Saudi artist Daniah Al Saleh will use AI to blend art, cinema, and machine learning.
Artists like Jean-Marie Appriou, Federica Di Carlo, and Chis Levine will also present works that touch on themes of sacred geometry, mythology, and cosmic connections. The blending of ancient natural landscapes and modern art will challenge visitors to explore the relationship between time, memory, and transformation.
Under the patronage of Egypt’s Ministry of Culture and UNESCO, Forever Is Now continues to establish itself as a global platform for cross-cultural artistic expression. Visitors can expect an immersive experience that bridges the past and present, offering new narratives within the timeless beauty of the Giza Plateau.
