Ballerific Travel: New Hotels and Resorts to Add to Your Summer 2023 Vacation List

With summer very near, traveling will be in full effect. There are some superb new hotels and resorts that have opened this year, just in time for summer vacations.

According to a recent survey by U.S. Travel Association, travel spending increased significantly in September and has reached its highest mark at 6% above 2019 levels. And it’s expected to keep growing; 32% of American travelers indicate leisure travel will be a high-budget priority in the next three months.

The uptick in traveling has new hotels and resorts popping up. From the U.S. all the way to Marrakech, this list of new resorts will fit just about anyone.

Pink Palm Hotel – St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands

St. Thomas has a new boutique hotel nestled on a hill between mango and palm trees. The Pink Palm Hotel was once a residential property but was transformed and opened in February 2023 to bring visitors closer to experiencing the historic district of Charlotte Amalie.

The Adults-only property features large guest rooms that offer modern and cool luxurious finishes and patio spaces with serene scenery. Visitors can chill out at the pool or grab food at its onsite restaurant.

Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort – Kailua-Kona, HI

Set to open in July, Kona Village will span 81 acres of Hawaii’s stunning landscape. Designed with inspiration from local culture and natural elements, the resort aims to deliver a distinctively Hawaiian experience.

The resort is located on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii and boasts 150 unique, standalone guest beach bungalows to give guests a home-away-from-home vibe. The property also has five restaurants and bars.

Andaz Mexico City Condesa — Mexico City

Mexico City has become a hotspot and this new hotel is even more of a reason to visit. Opened earlier this year, Andaz Mexico City Condesa is located within the artistic Condesa neighborhood. The luxury hotel features residential-style rooms and suites, a rooftop restaurant, spa, influenced by famous Mexican architect (and engineer) Luis Barragán. Its central location makes it easy to access nearby art galleries, cafés, restaurants and other attractions.

Virgin Hotels New York City

Sir Richard Branson brought his Virgin Hotels brand to New York City this February. Located at 1227 Broadway, the newest addition to the Virgin Hotels collection sits at the heart of the booming NoMad neighborhood. It features 460 Chambers (guest rooms), an outdoor Pool Club, an indoor/outdoor dining space, and more.

Nobu Hotel Marrakech: Morocco

Morocco opened its Nobu Hotel Marrakech earlier this year, and it is the first from the brand in Africa. The all-suite property offers Pearl Spa and the signature Nobu Restaurant and Bar. The rooftop will attract many with its 360-degree view, a circular pool, a DJ deck, and a Nobu sushi bar with seasonal Moroccan and Mediterranean plates.
