A native of North Carolina, Smallwood, a former public school teacher, decided to followed her passion and wrote her first novel, “A Life To Remember,” in 2003. As the CEO of Life-Changing Books (LCB), Smallwood has expanded her talents and found equal success in the film industry. After launching MegaMind Media in 2013, Smallwood set her sights on making film adaptations of some of the works published under her (LCB) company. Smallwood’s 2016 debut film, “Secrets,” was a Featured Narrative Film at the American Black Film Festival. Since then, she’s produced several award-winning film and television series for major media networks including, Viacom/BET Networks and TV ONE. Most recently, she wrote and produced the upcoming film, “All In,” which features Rapper/Actress Lil Mama, Rob Riley, Elise Neal, Jim Jones, Lena Anthony, Lyric Hurd, and Traci Braxton.
