You’re going to hear me use this term a lot and I want you to know what it means and its origin. I by no means created the word, and as far as I know it was originated in Dallas, TX. Now, just because it came from Dallas doesn’t mean that Dallas is the only place you can find one. Rivas run ramped across the country.
What’s a Riva?
Riva [ree-vuh] noun: a ratchet diva. a prima donna of all things hood rat.
Let’s use Riva in a sentence
“Girl, did you see that Riva with her royal blue micro braids and her belly tattoo? I heard she left her kid in the car to go to the club”
Rivas tend to take their hood-ratness to the fanciest extremes. Yes, they could settle for having the highest up-do hairstyle but why? Isn’t it more worth it to dye that same up-do lime green? Yes, one gold tooth used to be cool but a Riva will likely rock a mouth-full of gold to prove they are at a higher standard.
How To Spot A Riva
– You can usually find a Riva near the local Lacefront shop
– Most Rivas can be found with a bottle of Crown Royal in their hand
– Rivas travel in packs
– You are guaranteed to only find a Riva in The Trap House

– Rivas are attracted to kitchens and ampro gel
– You can find a Riva visiting Planned Parenthood weekly
– Rivas can be found on Twitter Typ33n Lyk D33z
– Look for bullet/knife wounds, tattoos, colorful weaves and kitten heels on the same person. She’s probably a Riva.
– If she says she wants a hood n-gga and calls you bougie because you know how to read, She’s probably a Riva.
How To Avoid A Riva
– Hang around places where it requires you have common sense and avoid places like the mall, welfare line and strip clubs during the day.
– Never date a man who has dated a Riva. Once you go Riva, they never go away.
– Avoid buying your hair extensions at the flea market.
– If you are approached by a Riva, never look her in the eye. It never ends well.
– Don’t go to jail or visit a loved one in jail.
– Lastly, to avoid a fight with a Riva do not comment on her razor sharp lacefront hair line. Take my word on this one.
