Former President Barack Obama and rock icon Bruce Springsteen have launched a joint podcast on Spotify.
The first two episodes of the podcast titled “Renegades: Born in the USA” were released on the streaming platform Monday. The show will span eight episodes, covering topics from marriage, fatherhood, and the country’s future now that Donald Trump is no longer in office.
Obama says that while the two don’t appear to have much in common, since meeting in 2008, they have discovered that they share many of the same values.
“On the surface, Bruce and I don’t have a lot in common. But over the years, what we’ve found is that we’ve got a shared sensibility. About work, about family and about America,” Obama said during the first episode.
This podcast is the second original show to be birthed from Obama’s 2019 joint venture between Spotify and Michelle Obama’s production company, Higher Ground. The first series, “The Michelle Obama Podcast,” launched last July and was hosted by the former first lady.
