Barack Obama says that Donald Trump’s response to the Coronavirus pandemic outbreak was “shambolic.”
Anytime we can hear a few words from our forever President Barack Obama, it’s a good day. During an interview with Late Show host Stephen Colbert, Obama shared his thoughts on Trump and his administration’s actions after he found out that Covid-19 had reached the States. He said that if the government had “done the work” at the start of the outbreak, “there is no doubt we would have saved some lives and, ironically, the economy would be better.”
He went on to say that a stronger response “would have been good politics.” He added that a better response would have not only included the announcement of vaccine development but also “respecting science and not undermining leading epidemiologists.” And as far as wearing a mask, Obama says it should not have been presented as “an act of oppression” but rather as “common sense.”
Obama says that none of the members in his family have contracted the disease, Deadline reports.
Stay safe out there, y’all!
