If Barack Obama was ever seeking an NBA team to sign with, the San Antonio Spurs would be the first to hear from him.
During a sit-down at MIT’s Sloan Sports Analytics Conference in Boston this week, when asked which professional basketball squad he would be open to join, the former President of the United States actually said so himself.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“This is an outstanding fantasy. I am just basking in the scenario,” he said, referring to his long-lived basketball dreams. “I think it’s fair to say that there are organizations in the NBA that may not win every year, [but] they are focused on the team; they treat everybody in the organization with respect. That is the kind of organization that I would want to be a part of. I will say that, over the last fifteen in basketball, San Antonio would be a great example.”

Obama then added, “There is a little drama popping up right now. If you look at what they’ve built, it’s just a smart, well-run operation with good culture.”

According to mySanAntonio, he later joked that he had to be careful, being that he does have friends who own NBA teams. However, he also mentioned the Rockets, Warriors, and Celtics as good NBA homes.
